Personalities as different as day and night, of course these girls will get into some pretty knock-down drag-out fights, I MEAN -heated discussions.

*head cannon time*
Fights between these girls were brutal. With both being hard headed and stubborn, their fights could (and have been known to) go on for days, with both shouting nasty insults that hit the core. Neither would give up easily.
But of course, Marceline always ended up winning, by crossing the line and saying something just too personal, just to bitter, just to cruel, and Bubblegum would leave with haste to hide her tears.
And Marceline always felt like sh*t afterwards.

The days after their fights were always the worst. They were cold and lonesome days, for both ladies. This could last for days or months. Marceline would leave -- ashamed of causing Bubblegum to cry-- and roam are the world in search of distraction from her guilt. Bubblegum would lock herself away in her lab, working for days on end, on useless experiments that more-often-than-not didn't even work.

But in the end, Marceline would come back. At night, and sometime when she could see Bubblegum alone. Usually appearing on the Princess's balcony. They would just stare at eachother for a while, not saying anything, but both knowing that there was an apology lodged somewhere in Marceline's throat. And Bubblegum would forgive her.

Because really, what is one without the other?
